Poor Posture: A State of Dis-ease

Poor posture results from certain muscles tightening up or shortening while others lengthen and become weak, which often occurs because of one’s daily activities, accidents, pregnancy, or not exercising properly. Often it leads to pain, injury, or other health problems such as digestive issues, shortness of breath, bladder incontinence, or sciatic nerve pain just to name a few. Poor posture also sends messages to the brain to release cortisol and lower testosterone into the body thus causing stress and low energy.

When in a state of dis-ease, your body cannot heal itself and this should alarm you!

However…

Your body WAS designed to heal itself, when in a state of EASE.  (We have proven this concept many hundreds of times!)

Maintaining perfect posture has many benefits:

  • Keeping your joints and bones in proper alignment.
  • Ensuring muscles are being used effectively and efficiently.
  • Helping to decrease abnormal wear and tear on joint surfaces.
  • Decreasing stress on the spinal ligaments.
  • Holding the spine in a normal position.
  • Preventing muscle fatigue.
  • Minimizing the risk of sprain and strain injuries.
  • Reducing the risk of back pain.
  • Promoting a good appearance.
  • Promoting energy and a positive mental outlook.
  • Feeling successful and confident.
  • Appearing intelligent and successful to others.

Posture isn’t just about keeping your shoulders back like your grandmother always said!  Posture is so much more!

People don’t realize that poor posture is a sign of poor health.  Many diseases start because of poor posture.  Why? When muscles are out of balance, they are not able to hold the joints in thier proper positions. This allows the joints to restrict nerves and blood flow to specific and various organs of the body. Long-term or chronic cases like this will cause breakdowns in the organs which are susceptible to disease.  With disease, poor health continues.

Medications, shots, and surgery should be used when there are no other options available. In other words, as a last resort.
