Improve My Performance

THE ARTS AND COMPETITION: I NEED TO IMPROVE MY PERFORMANCE

If you or your children or your grandchildren (male or female) are into dance, cheer, gymnastics, or any other performing art or competition, this is for you!  There are SO MANY performers who want to be THE BEST! But there is one, maybe two dance moves they just can’t seem to master or even do that may be holding them back!

Improve my performance!

DANCE: WHY CAN’T I GET MY ANKLE TO MY EAR?

If the dancer has a sway or flat back, this tilts the pelvis into a position that is not natural.  It causes the hip ball-and-socket joint to sit differently than nature intended, which stops the joints from performing all rotations and movements in a fluid and proper range-of-motion.

If the S. I. Joints are unstable, this is another problem for the serious dancer!  A standing kick can be painful and nearly impossible until these problems are all corrected!

Can’t get your ankle to your ear?  That is why.  And until you correct your pelvic tilt, you NEVER will.

It’s all about the pelvic tilt and proper hip placement.  Posture imbalances will hinder the performance every single time.

We do want to mention how much better a dancer with good posture looks on stage!  They look eye-catching and sure of themselves – their posture tells the audience to believe in them.  There is nothing more embarrassing than a dancer with a forward head and hunchback!

Your movements are perfect, your posture should be too, that way you will have 100% perfect performance!

CHEER: WHY CAN’T I DO THE SPLITS?

There is a reason you can’t do the splits or kick your leg to the side so your ankle meets your ear.  Here is the simple explanation:

In our diagram, we show the pelvic girdle from the front.  You can see both femurs and where they meet in the ball-and-socket to create the hip joints.  If your pelvic girdle is tilted too far backward or forward, that will affect the hip joints and how they rotate.
